Proximity to the railway stations at Keighley, Crossflatts, Bingley, Saltaire and Shipley on the Skipton to Leeds / Bradford line make this a handy route for cycling commuters. A trial of new, controlled access cycle lockers at Shipley railway station should also be a boon for local commuters. The route features easy pedalling along generally good quality towpath with plenty of access points. (N.B. No cycling at Five Rise locks - push or use road links.) As a leisure route, it has plenty of attractions along the way; Kirkstall Abbey, Saltaire and East Riddlesden Hall amongst them. For a detailed route map click here. www.airevalleytowpath.org.uk
also features a basic route map and a list of access points along with
other useful information. |
