SESKU RINGWAY

Largely passing through the countryside around South Elmsall, South Kirkby and Upton, this thirteen mile multiuser circular route has plenty of links into the towns and villages of the area. The railway station at South Elmsall is on the Ringway route, with direct trains to Wakefield and Doncaster. Nearby Moorthorpe station has direct trains to Wakefield and Sheffield with a more limited service to York. Despite initial enthusiasm for the route is has fallen into decline somewhat, its future being bound up with an A1-M1 link road project and the development of Frickley Country Park - hopefully this will lea to significant route improvements if / when the road scheme goes ahead over the coming years.

Some sections of the SESKU Ringway, such as those
pictured above and left, near South Elmsall, have a great,
even surface making for easy cycling. However, beware
as some sections are very muddy and for experienced
mountain bikers only.
